    Description

Plume Covered Butter Non- flint Adams #3, Manufactured by Adams & Company, Pittsburgh, PA circa 1880. The United States Glass Company, Pittsburgh, PA, at Factory “A” after 1891. The glass is clear and any colors you see in the photographs are reflections from indoors where I photographed the piece.
The covered butter has the mold marks and straw marks and bubbles and waviness common in this era of glassware. Wonderful color and clarity and the impression from the mold is good. This butter shows very little use and looks like new. No chips or cracks, very minor mold roughness on base. Top of knob shows a little wear as do the scallops/plumes it sits upon.
